Rick's bio

Rick Hutchinson captures the essence of surrealism co-opting images directly from his dreams and manifesting them concretely on hardboard and canvas. He employs a meticulous academic technique through-out the highly stylized and strangely hallucinatory imagery. His paintings have been described as painted dream photographs. Hutchinson's paintings embodies the fascinating dream workings of his mind into well executed and uncommon contemporary dreamscapes. Many of his works are housed in elaborate 19th century constructs which frame his paintings and work in union offering the viewer an unique 21st century vibe.

Rick Hutchinson's paintings are in numerous private collections and is currently represented by Marion Royael Gallery, New York.
